Drone Laws - Sweden


Swedish Transport Agency

Permission is required for recreational and commercial drone operators in Sweden.

For all drone models under 7kg the following applies:

  1. Label your drone

  2. Insurance
  3. Drone is in good operating condition
  4. Designate a Pilot in Command (PIC)
  5. No flying BVLOS 
  6. No flying above 120m
  7. Keep away from people and animals
  8. No flying over (close to) airports, prisons, nature reserves, military or nuclear facilities

Permissions

In the following cases you have to apply for a permit to fly your drone:


  • all drones weighing more than 7 kg
  • all flying beyond your visual line of sight (when you cannot see the drone with your own eyes)
  • all flying above 120 metres in uncontrolled airspace
  • all flying above people, animals and property that are unrelated to the flight, which means there is no consent given to fly above them.
